Series: Not Guilty: Part 3

Jan 18, 2026    Don Allen

This powerful message confronts one of the most crippling forces in the Christian walk: condemnation. Drawing from Romans 8:1 'There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus' we're invited to examine whether we truly believe in our 'not guilty' verdict. The sermon unpacks the courtroom language throughout Scripture, showing us that God didn't send Jesus to condemn the world but to save it. We discover that the only sin that actually separates us from God isn't the list of moral failures we obsess over, but the refusal to believe in Jesus. This shifts everything. The woman caught in adultery becomes our mirror, guilty, yes, but met with Jesus standing between us and our accusers, declaring 'neither do I condemn you.' The message challenges us to stop testifying against ourselves, to recognize that our own words either justify or condemn us, and to understand that Jesus serves as our defense attorney who has never lost a case. We're called to be on our own side, just as God is on our side, and to stop allowing guilt and shame to disqualify us from the ministry and calling God has placed on our lives. The truth is radical: if we believe in Him, we're already innocent, already righteous, already free.
